Reinvention

Reinvention

Each project I take on begins with forming the image or nearly complete idea in my mind.  What I see in my head is what I want the final product to look like and with an understanding of what I am trying to communicate.

The journey starts with the concept.  The process is teaching myself how to create that image.  Materials need to be selected.  Size needs to be determined.  Color scheme needs to be finalized.

The path I begin to reach the final product is rarely how I end up realizing my goal.  Art is a process of reinvention.  Each project is different.  Materials react and respond differently in new applications.  Colors interact in unexpected ways.  Previously tried processes create new results.

Art is resourcefulness, adaptability, new thinking about known things.  Fun, frustrating, fascinating, fallible, perpetual.
